This hotel will steal from you. We overpaid our stay by about $1000, as we thought we were a bigger group. They told us they would refund the money. First, they told us we could get the refund anytime: and then they told us we could only get it when we checked out. When we did check out, they first told us they would give us back $200. We complained. They then said they would give us back roughly $500. We agreed to that, as we were very frustrated at that point. It has been now 2 months, we have not seen a dollar back, and they are not replying to us. We have contacted a lawyer to sue them, and now we are trying to let others know to avoid the hotel. There are a lot better hotels to stay at. Besides the money issues, they are on a side street no cabs will go down, so you will have to walk a few blocks with luggage to get a car. There are stray dogs that bark all night. There is nothing good at this hotel.

If you're on the first floor, expect no sleep. If moved any higher, no hot or warm (only freezing cold) water. There are no walls separating the building from outside, and we got little to no sleep the first two nights because of the noise. Expect dogs barking all night, then noise from the cafe - including tables being moved and cutlery sorted at 3am. On our first day we also got a wake up call at 9.30am to remind us about breakfast - that we didn't ask for - when we had only arrived from the airport at 4am. After asking to move rooms to a higher floor - which was quieter - in our second room we then had no hot or even warm water - only freezing cold - so couldn't wash. As we left we got asked if we had experienced being electrocuted in our room, which was worrying, though when I said we had no hot water he just nodded like that was completely normal. It's very much a hostel, quite run down and very overpriced considering they can't get the basics right, though the staff are nice and friendly and helpful. Though breakfast is included it's very basic, but the coffee was good. Hotel needs to provide some instructions on how to find - as taxis won't drop you off outside - and if arriving at night it's not ideal. Overall, a pretty awful experience and wouldn't recommend.

We had the best experience staying here! All of the staff members were super friendly and courteous. The room itself was big, stylish, clean and comfortable. The neighborhood is very vibrant and hip, and great for artsy folks. The Fika cafe/restaurant/bar has delicious offerings. The free breakfast was yummy and fresh. The hotel does its best to accommodate its guests with bags and luggages by arranging handlers, tuk-tuks and drivers if you ask in advance, and for a fee. We did not have any issues with our bags and late arrival as we arranged with the hotel for airport pick-up. The best part of our stay was how they made us feel a part of their community. They happened to be hosting a pop-up artisan/makers event one of the nights we were there and it was one of the most socially connective, generative, and inclusive experiences we ever had. The event organized by Amit Pandey, the super kind and fun general manager brought together diverse groups of people making all of us a truly interconnected world. If you're there during the winter season, do ask for heaters and blankets. The hot water tank is fine for one person at a time but otherwise, you'd need to be savvy, space out useages, and be conservative. :) Thank you all at Poshtel! Christina, Thi, Stella and Katya

Everything was perfect here. From the personal to the rooms to the food and the location. Anushka welcomed us and even brought us a packet of tea from her home region of Darjeeling. The location in Haus Khas Village is great and very calm after a busy day out in Delhi. We will definitely come back.

Came to Cafe Fika in Poshtel for breakfast. Tiny portion of very dry scrambled egg and 2 squares of waffles with a few pieces of fruit priced just under INR700 - this is excluding any drinks. On top of taxes also added 10% service charge but you’ll only learn about that after you paid. Really poor value for money, much nicer options around for breakfast
